When I Look into Your Eyes

By Ally Cowart

When I look into you eyes, all I see is hate.
The fire inside you burns deep,
your soul cold.
Why do you hate me?
Tell me please, what have I done?!
I love you so much, but all you do is ignore me.
When you speak to me,
all I hear are words of disgrace.
You let your hands talk and I see the
blood start to flow.
All you do is tell me I'm worthless
and how much I screw up.
When I ask you what I have done,
your fists join in the conversation.
As I open my eyes, my world turns black.
Hate consumes you and then you leave me,
helpless on the floor.
As I cry tears of blood, you walk away,
saying nothing more.
